The Primaries, Completed 1998

Designed by architect Brian Klopper, The Primaries redevelopment transformed one of Fremantle’s historic wool stores into warehouse-style townhouses. Retaining its industrial character and original shell, the design features exposed beams, factory windows and natural timbers. Recognised in 1998 for innovation by the Housing Association of WA, the design is an early exemplar of adaptive reuse that combines heritage with modern living.
